Stimulus Package Article-The Feminist Majority

I read an article on the Feminist Majority website. It was about President Obama's plan to include family planning supplies in Medicare in the stimulus package he has proposed. (Which I'm sure would please his democratic counterparts) This addition to the package would supposedly create new healthcare jobs and in the long run save money. I have some issues with this. First, what ever happened to abstinence? Apparently, its a thing of the past. Second, is family planning really what Americans are worried about now? If we are going to improve Medicare, lets try extending the age which you can receive it so that broke college students like me who can't go to the doctor or the dentist without maxing out credit cards, can get healthcare. Last, if you read the article, Obama did back down from this, asking congressional democrats to remove it from the bill. My last issue-if your gonna propose something, stick to your guns. If your going to run the country, make decisions and stick with them.
